After there succesfull debut album “Jazz”, the five musicians from Hipnosis drop there second longplayer “Carrousel” on Perfect Toy Records, Munich .

The great success was made possible through the musical concept of the group, drawing deeply from the traditions of jazz, and adressing young listeners by crossing over all boundaries of styles, forms and disciplines through their own modern compositions. Hardened jazz enthusiasts as well as laterally-thinking young people are euphoric about the extremly varied compositions of the band members and their concentrated and energetic musical performance.

“Through their music, the band relates to 1960s, the time of new departures in jazz. Not only the clear, accentuated sound, but also the band´s style, traces its roots back to that legendary era: elements of modal jazz, groove jazz and free jazz inspired the band members for their own compositions. However, the band is present in the here and now, the compositions are in keeping with the times and reflect the various influences and challenges, musicians are faced with at the beginning of the 21st century”.

Hipnosis received numerous good reviews for their album “Jazz” and was given a lot of air time by the respected British jazz critic Gilles Peterson on his radio programme “Worldwide”. In advance, a vinyl-maxi (PT003.EP) was produced with remixes done by Gerardo Frisina, Mitchell & Dewbury and Zero Crossing and a vocal version with guest star Marc Frank from Les Gammas. This maxi single was in the top 10 German Club Charts for five weeks and made the band popular in the club and dj scene as well.
